Talking Turkey: Thanksgiving 2008 Catering Deals at BBQ Restaurants

Blue Ribbon (Newton and Arlington) is kicking off its first year of offering smoked turkeys and turkey packages
(dinner for 6-8 is $99; dinner for 9-12 is $140; dinner for 13-15, $175).

BT's Smokehouse (Brimfield) is smoking turkeys starting at $6/lb and ranging from 12 lbs to 25 lbs. They'll also be doing smoked maple cured hams starting at $9/lb, coming in 5, 9, 11, and 22 lb sizes.
Turkey orders need to be in by Friday, November 21 to allow proper brining properly before being smoked. www.btsmokehouse.com
Firefly's (Marlboro, Framingham, Quincy) is offering apple cider brined and smoked turkeys for $4.50/lb, plus an assortment of different Thanksgiving packages. Orders must be in my Thursday, November 20. See also graphic, right column. www.fireflysbbq.com
Redbones (Somerville) will be taking orders through Monday, November 24 for smoked turkeys (12-14-lb, $60), candied yams, garlic mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn pudding, pecan pies and sweet potato pies. See also graphic, right column. www.redbones.com
Route 7 Grill (Great Barrington) will be serving an in-house Thanksgiving buffet dinner ($30) from noon to 4PM. The feast includes traditionally cooked local turkey, house smoked ham and all the fixings. Hill Country (NYC) is not only smoking turkeys for Thanksgiving but will be open from 9:00AM to noon for takeout service. Pit smoked turkeys will be available in two sizes (14-16-lb, $140; 9-11-lb, $90) and also offered in packages (Feast for 9 to12 people, $255; feast for 5 to 8 people, $175). Sides available a la carte will include sweet potato bourbon nash, green bean casserole, Texas toast stuffing, Longhorn cheddar mac and cheese, traditional cranberry sauce and farmer market salad. Three different pies will be on offer: apple, bourbon pecan and ginger snap pumpkin.
Willie B's BBQ (Bay Shore) may have closed the restaurant, but Willie B himself is returning to
his roots as a barbecue caterer. For Thanksgiving, Willie will be smoking whole
turkeys ($6/lb, sizes starting at 10-lb) and fresh hams ($8.50/lb, sizes
8-15-lb). Packages include a smoked turkey (14-16-lb) and 6 lb of side dishes for $105; smoked fresh ham (8-10-lb) and 6 lb of side dishes for $115; and smoked prime rib, four pounds of sides, a dozen corn muffins and two pies for $195. Barbecue specialties from the Willie B's menu will also be available,
and at lower prices than on the website. All orders include free delivery with reheating instructions on
