Joints Directory Madness
Here's the latest batch of barbecue Joints directory activity, spanning four states. This time there are five new joints, a double expansion, one closing, and three new or corrected websites.
NEW JOINTS and/or NEW TO THE DIRECTORY
Backroad Grille (Bristol RI) is a new joint with a something-for-everyone menu whose barbecue section includes "slow roasted" pulled pork "simmered in BBQ sauce" and "fall off the bone" ribs "cooked to perfection." Thanks to Mark for the lead. www.backroadgrille.com
Johnny's Smokehouse (Willsboro NY) is so far east, it's practically in Vermont and so far north, it's practically in Montreal. Their lunch menu features a four-meat barbecue sampler for a mere $8.95, and their all-purpose menu includes smoked meats in various permutations plus a local burger, chicken and biscuits, steak, seafood, pizza, several salads and deep fried asparugus. www.johnnyssmokehouse.com

Jake's Sweet Meat BBQ (Providence RI) is a food truck usually located at Kennedy Plaza. Thanks to Adam for the lead. Facebook
Boudin BBQ (Shelton CT) is another food truck specializing in barbecue. The standard menu is compact, but the specials change daily. Everything is smoked over oak, including the fried dough. Thanks to Michelle for the lead. www.boudanbbq.com

New York City BBQ: Southern Hospitality (Hell's Kitchen) Reviewed
Reviews on back-to-back days? Why not. This one and my previous New York City review (Neely's Barbecue Parlor) are bookends of sorts: both have a celebrity connection less connected than they lead on, but at least the ending is happier in my 229th barbecue joint review for Southern Hospitality (Hell's Kitchen). This is an expansion of the Upper East Side watering hole that's never been one of my favorites, but I headed in with an open mind. Check out the review via the Reviews page, the link above or link to reviews using the red icons in the Joints directory.

New York City BBQ: Neely's Barbecue Parlor Reviewed
The site's 227th barbecue review is posted for Neely's Barbecue Parlor (New York NY), an Upper East Side barbecue joint banking on the name and popularity of Food Network stars Pat and Gina Neely. Check out the review via the Reviews page, the link above or link to reviews using the red icons in the Joints directory.

Massachusetts BBQ: An Updated Review for Casey's Crossing
Never let it be said that I don't give a second chance to joints that got a less-than-favorable review the first time around. I'm not so sure how favorable this one is, but after five and a half years, it's a reflection of what's going on right now at Casey's Crossing (Holliston MA). Check out the review via the Reviews page, the link above or link to reviews using the red icons in the Joints directory.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Wings
The 2011 NFL season is underway and the Patriots kick off their schedule tonight against the Dolphins. Monday Night Football snacks mean different things to different people, but it should go without argument that the go-to meat snack is the almighty wing. Here's my latest list of favorite smoked wings at a baker's dozen different barbecue joints in New York and New England.

Brooklyn BBQ: Fatty Cue Reviewed
The site's 226th barbecue review is posted for Fatty Cue (Brooklyn NY), a Williamsburg restaurant that combines Southeast Asian flavors and barbecue techniques. Now that I got a second visit in and now that Fatty Cue has a second location in Manhattan, it's about time, although I did have a preview posted last fall. Check out the review via the Reviews page, the link above or link to reviews using the red icons in the Joints directory.
